CityBLD contains a library of tools to add roads and highways to your scene.

As of Beta 0.3.1, there are 4 Road Tools available:

Dynamic Roads

The Dynamic Roads tool is ideal for creating dense city streets and alleyways. To use it, we simply select a road preset, which determines the rules used to generate the roads, and hit Draw.

This enables a 3D brush in the viewport. The brush indicates where the next road point will be placed. When we're ready to begin a road, we can simply click to add a new point.

As we’re drawing and the tool is active, we can hit Middle Mouse Button to align the landscape to the road.

When we're done drawing, we'll hit ESC to leave the Tool.

Modular Roads

The primary difference between the Dynamic Roads tool and the Modular Roads Dynamic Roads generate sharp intersections, while Modular Roads only generate smooth merges.

The interface is generally the same, we'll select a Modular Road Style and hit Draw. This time, rather than creating sharp curves at each point, our highways will always be smooth.

We can scroll up or down on the mouse wheel and the highway will be raised or lowered, with bridges and tunnels generated automatically depending on height.

To create a merge, we'll just need to select a merge type, such as an on-ramp or off-ramp. We can then hit Merge, and we'll see a merge brush that snaps to our highways.

We can click anywhere the brush is enabled (indicated by a green highlight) and add a merge at that location.
